Description
5/16 bore solder nipple (Brass) for 3/8 BSP female nut
The solder nipple is a precision-machined fitting designed to provide a strong, leak-free connection between rigid pipework and flexible hose systems. Manufactured from brass, it combines durability with excellent resistance to corrosion and fuel-related chemical attack, making it well-suited for demanding fuel, oil, and coolant applications. Best suited for Jaguar and MGA applications where a smaller pipe is used in conjunction with a 3/8 female nut.
Design: Straight nipple with a smooth shank for soldering into 5/16 and 8mm copper or brass tubing on one end, and a formed outlet on the other to accept a female nut coupling.
Material: Solid brass construction offers mechanical strength, ease of soldering, and long-term resistance to rust, pitting, and wear. Brass also provides excellent thermal and conductive properties, ensuring reliable solder joints.
Application: Commonly used in fuel systems, cooling circuits, and hydraulic lines where a permanent, vibration-resistant joint is required. The solder nipple allows secure integration of flexible fuel or oil hoses with rigid metal pipework, often seen in classic automotive and marine systems.
Advantages: Provides a permanent, high-integrity connection when soldered. Brass material ensures clean solder flow and strong adhesion. Resistant to fuels, oils, and coolants, making it versatile across multiple fluid types. Compact design allows use in confined spaces where threaded fittings may not be suitable.
